SLUDGES DE-WATERING AND DRYING

Depending on the water content and the physical characteristics of the waste, the first step of de-watering can be applied. Some de-watered sludge can be used as a solid fuel as such. However, in most cases, in order to avoid energy consumption or technical problems in operation units, a second step is required. This consists of a drying (mainly rotary) operation.

PYROLYSIS

The organic fraction of the waste is transformed into a highly calorific gas while the mineral fraction is recycled to substitute raw materials for clinker production.
